Standard configuration Astra M400 with fixed front and rear sights. Astra U/C logo on front of slide. Four line split address on rear of slide. Left tang with Eibar proofing with the letter “M” denoting proofing in 1941. Matching serial number on barrel, right side of slide and right side of frame. Major parts are rust blued. Barrel, trigger and safety are polished and in-the-white. Fire blued extractor, grip screws, and magazine release. Coarsely checkered unnumbered grips are replacements and earlier era Astra magazine with E/U logo on base. Condition: Approximately 95% original rust blue with expected wear from having been holstered, carried and used, though front strap and grip safety retain most of their blue. Small parts, grips, and magazine are in the same overall condition with no suggestion of enhancement. Replacement grips with dark staining, conforming well to the overall condition of the pistol. Magazine arsenal refurbished. Bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Excellent and very charismatic hand carved grips, reminiscent of trench art. One of the scarcer Nazi procurement pistols limited to 6000 units in the serial range 92851-98850. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
