Manufacturer marked “Beuret Freres” on the right side of the lockworks. The top of the chamber is marked with the shield of St Gallen and the SN “56”. Most of the small parts are marked with manufacturers “BF” initials. Belgium proofs on the left side of the chamber. Brass hammer screw is a replacement.
Swiss Model 1842 Military Percussion pistol issued to the St Gallen Canton made by Beuret Freres of Belgium.
Generally fine with spots of minor oxidation over carefully cleaned metal. VG+ wood, with scattered handling dings, no cracks, with original finish. Pistol cocks and releases properly, though tensioned trigger needs to be reset after hammer release. A very nice Swiss Military Percussion pistol well marked for the St Gallen Canton. ANTIQUE! A HISTORIC INVESTMENT.
