Attractive DWM 1920 Commercial Luger with Period Holster
Description:
Standard configuration 1920 Commercial Luger made by DWM in Germany, this example for export as reflected by the “GERMANY” on the forward frame. Usual 3 5/8 in. barrel, cal.30 Luger, with ramp front sight. “V” notch rear sight. Intertwined DWM on forward toggle link. Crown/N proofing on left side of receiver, repeated on breech block. Full serial number with letter suffix under barrel and forward frame with the last two digits repeated on the takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, and rear toggle link. Unnumbered holdopen, safety lever and walnut checkered grips. Tinned magazine with beech plug marked “5059”. Major components rust blued; minor components strawed except grip screws that are fire blued. Complete with a commercial chocolate brown holster with stud hold-open and single belt loop.
Condition:
Near excellent original finish with sharp edge wear and fading over side plate and frame above right side of trigger and takedown axel. Strawed parts retain most of their original finish with minor fading and spotting as carefully imaged. Comparable condition grips with staining and slightly blunted checkering, especially on the right side. Magazine body is moderately stained. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Near EXC holster with supple leather and intact stitching. A very nice, no-excuse Luger for the interested collector and or shooter.
