Hard rubber grips with “B” at top over finely checkered field. Lanyard ring. Major components rust blued. Most small parts strawed or fired blued.
Synopsis:
Scarce and highly desirable Bergmann 1896, No. 2, 5mm, late configuration with molded hard rubber grips.
Condition:
VG-EX original finish with sharp edge wear and fading as carefully pictured. Rotating side plate with a faint wave and discoloration from cold blue touch up. No suggestion that the strawed or fired blue parts have been enhanced. Excellent grips with a few handling dings but no splits or repairs. Bright bore, a little dirty, with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A delightful, scarce, and instantly recognizable semiautomatic from the end of the 19th century, especially nice as an ANTIQUE!
