Standard late configuration Bergmann 1896, No. 3, single action blowback, bolt cut for extractor, with 4.5” lugged barrel having drift adjustable front sight and notched rear sight. Crown/C/U proofs on left side of barrel and chamber. Patent markings on left side of frame that has the later pattern rounded grip. Sideplate with miner logo and sturdy fixed loop for shoulder stock. “PISTOLET BERGMANN” on rotating magezine cover. Full serial number on right side of frame. Fitted with molded hard rubber grips bearing “B” at top over uniformly checkered and bordered field. Fixed lanyard loop.
Unusual, late production Bergmann 1896, No. 3, with sideplate having loop for super scarce shoulder stock and rotating magazine cover marked “PISTOLET BERGMANN”.
VG original rust blue with fading and oxidative changes as photographed. No suggestion of touch up. Same applies to the strawed and fire blued small parts, some marring of the screw #7 on left frame. Generally bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A late production gun whose unusual features should interest even advanced collectors!
