Original Shansei/Shanxi C96 Broomhandle, .45 ACP, denoted the Type 17, the most sought after of all the Chinese Warlord pistols, as made between 1928-1932, total production just under 9000 guns. Standard configuration with 5.5” barrel, fixed front sight, with slip-in rear sight graduated 100-1000. Short extractor and single lug firing pin. Usual Chinese characters on left panel and right side of frame. Matching numbers on all external parts. There was too much old, dried grease to fully depress the floorplate plunger, so there was no disassembly. No import marking. Serrated wood grips.
Synopsis:
Original Chinese Shansei Shanxi, Type 17, Mauser C96 Broomhandle, .45 ACP
Condition:
G-VG original condition with scattered spotting, etching, and some touch up as imaged. Hammer and subframe have been cleaned. Original grips with staining, in comparable condition to balance of pistol. Bright bore with slight etching and sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A holy grail gun for any serious collector of early big bore semiautomatic pistols and Chinese Warlord guns.
