Standard configuration Bullseye Match Target with 6.5 inch barrel, fixed frontsight and fully-adjustable rearsight. Frontsight blade altered, now with a brass bead insert. Top of barrel with usual two line address referencing series of patents from 1903-1918. Left side of barrel with usual Match Target Bullseye logo with “THE WOODSMAN” series. Slide with standard Colt address denoting caliber. Left side of trigger guard with inverted triangular proof, the right side with inspection number 99. Single piece elephant ear grips secured with transverse screw along with separate screw at base of frontstrap. Serial number “MT84” on butt. Colt dual tone magazine marked with “Cal .22/COLT” on floorplate.
Colt Woodsman, Bullseye Match Target, super early serial number, arguably first 1-2 days of production.
Approximately 95% original blue with replacement/altered frontsight blade and sharp edge wear and freckling/thinning of backstrap as one would expect from a competitively used pistol. Grip with usual hairline crack extending below frontstrap screw. Mirror bright bore, perfect manual mechanics. A very desirable super low SN Match Target for the serious Colt collector.
