Standard M1906 Cross in Shield military with 4 ¾” barrel having a drift adjustable front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. Deeply impressed CROSS IN SHIELD over chamber with usual DWM over middle toggle link. Full serial number under barrel and on forward frame. Numbered small parts are all matching, including the grips, each with an impressed “97” or “697”. Magazine with tinned body and walnut base with aluminum inserts. No “P” stamp as usually applied to deaccessioned weapons and no import marks. A correct leather holster that is manufacturer marked and dated “06” on obverse surface.
Very high condition Model 1906 Swiss, Cross in Shield, all matching with correct early holster SN: 9697. Cal. 7.65mm Luger.
Approximately 98+% bright, original rust blue with minimal sharp edge wear. Comparable condition strawed parts that do not evidence enhancement. Sharply checkered grips show minimal oil staining, no noticeable cracks or losses. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. VG+ holster with original stitching and nicely impressed date and manufacturer marking. Overall, an extremely nice and all original 1906 Cross in Shield Luger, especially unusual in not having a “P” release marking or an import mark, now about a hundred years old!
