Standard configuration 1941 Johnson rifle in 30-06 as used in WWII, principally by the Marines in the Pacific. The top of the receiver is marked “CAL. 30-’06 SEMI-AUTO./”JOHNSON AUTOMATICS”/MODEL OF 1941/MADE IN PROVIDENCE, R.I., U.S.A.” As true for virtually all Johnsons, the serial number “A4592” on top of the receiver is separate from the bolt that is numbered “A7841”. As usually noted, these guns were marked on the right rear receiver with “CRANSTON/ARMS/CO” in a triangle below a small five-pointed Dutch star. Fitted with a 30-06 barrel whose forward disc is caliber marked along with the 41 date. Standard two piece walnut stock with laminations on each side behind the magazine cover. Standard checkered buttplate. Complete with an unmarked bayonet and leather sheath.
Condition:
VG original parkerized finish with comparable condition stock. Wear consistent with moderate use. The magazine cover having a small whole as imaged. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Bayonet appears original in condition comparable to rifle. Scabbard likely a reproduction.
