Spectacular 1939 dated Mauser S/42 Code, Sear Safety Luger with Military acceptance, as procured for the Nazi controlled State Police prior to the use of the National Police Stamp. This is an extraordinary example with two factory matching magazines, matching holster, and Eagle/K marked tool.
Standard configuration Mauser S/42 Sear Safety having a 4” barrel, drift front sight and fixed rear sight. 1939 dated chamber with full serial number surmounting bore diameter under barrel. Full serial number repeated on left receiver and on forward frame. The right receiver with usual military proofs as correct for this short run of Police Lugers as reported by Jan Still, AXIS PISTOLS, pages 201-210. All small parts are matched “05” including the grips. Two factory matching magazines, each marked with the full serial number and letter suffix, Eagle/63, the second magazine marked with the usual “+”. NO IMPORT MARKS! Complete with crisp brown police holster, obverse surface manufacturer marked in “Berlin” and dated “1939”. Takedown tool marked with an Eagle/K.

Condition:
Crisp 98+% bright original salt blue with very light holster wear in the expected places. Comparable condition grips, very sharp checkering, and magazines whose plugs are nicely marked. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Excellent brown leather holster, supple, original stitching showing no repairs. An incredible and absolutely complete as issued 1939 Police Rig with German Army acceptance markings. According to Jan Still, production of the Sear Safety Army accepted Lugers ceased in early 1939 with total production of this kind of Luger estimated at 2000 units.
