Early high polish Mauser Hsc with Kriegsmarine Eagle/M on frontstrap and Eagle/N commercial proof on right trigger guard web, documented in AXIS PISTOLS
Standard early configuration HSc with matted sight channel and frame recessed for lanyard loop. Left side of slide with Mauser banner followed by two line address denoting manufacturer, model and caliber. Safety positions with white highlighted “S” and red dot. Front strap with nicely struck Eagle/ M. Near the bottom is the horizontally applied serial number. Right rear trigger guard with Eagle/N proof. Walnut panels with bordered checkering, each secured with a single screw. Correct magazine with greyed in-the-white body having seven indicator holes and blued base with round toe marked with the Mauser banner. Disassembly shows a matching barrel and a matching electropenciled slide numbered in the usual locations. Second variation Kriegsmarine pistols have been reported in the serial range 707517-851751 with an estimated procurement of 7000. This exact pistol was mentioned by serial number in AXIS PISTOLS by Jan Still on page 176

Condition:
Approximately 96% original high polish blue with sharp edge wear and handling marks on the front and backstrap. Comparable condition original finish grips. Forward extensions have not been repaired. Near mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics.
