Stunning 1895 Nagant Revolver, this example having been made in 1898. Standard 4.5″ barrell with drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Full serial number on left side of frame with last few digits under barrel, cylinder sleeve, cylinder, loading gate, etc. Usual Belgian proofs on the barrel, frame and cyclinder. Main compnents blued with fire blued hammer, trigger, loading gate, and tensioning spring. Fitted with finely checkered wooden grips. Butt cap with rotatable lanyard ring.
Condition:
Bright and crisp 97-98% blue with most wear on cylinder. Comparable condition fire blued parts. Crisp light grips with minimal oil staining and handling marks. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A absolutely gorgeous revolver, though polishing, to include appearance of muzzle and surfacing of fire blued parts suggests a partial rework. On the other hand, the bore is perfect and the grip panel condition is in keeping with a 97-98% original finish revolver.
