Earliest Steyr Hahn variation, fully matching, with single line commercial address and drift adjustable rear sight. This is the variation that preceded all of the military adaptations and is the correct version that was sometimes fitted with the even rarer shoulder stock. General configuration similar to later production except for having a drift adjustable rear sight and the single commercial marking on the left side of the slide. At the rear is the usual ‘S’. Full serial number on left side of slide, left side of frame, and repeated under the barrel (visible on disassembly). Major components rust blued with strawed extracter on top of slide, safety, and grip screws. Barrel, hammer, and trigger polished and in-the-white. Finely checkered grips with recessed borders, secured with a single transverse screw. Large fixed lanyard loop at base of frame.
Synopsis:
Extremely rare, earliest production, commercial Steyr Hahn with single line address.
Condition:
VG – Excellent, presenting better than overall description as most of the wear, probably from having been carried, is under the forward frame, forward trigger guard, and front strap. Relatively little wear over crest of slide and surprisingly strong back strap showing no evidence of touchup. Comparable condition grips. Mirror bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. The rarest of all the Steyr Hahn’s, excepting a handful of true prototypes.
