An extraordinary, near new, Persian military 98-29 rifle, caliber 8×57 (8mm Mauser), serial number 1678d (translated from Farsi). This rifle has a 29″ barrel with a blade front sight with protective ears, and a tangent rear sight with Farsi graduations. This Brno manufactured rifle has an ornate Persian lion crest on the top of the receiver. Both sides marked with Farsi/Persian inscriptions. All visible parts have matching serial numbers. There are no visible import markings. Metal components with rich original blue, the stock heavily varnished as correct for this rifle. Complete with its original cleaning rod, bottom mounted sling swivels, MATCHING BAYONET, and original MATCHING TEST TARGET dated September 22, 1934.
Condition:
Unbelievable 98% original blue/fire blue with comparable condition wood, having only a few scattered handling marks. The same phenomenal condition applies to the bayonet and oil stained but original matching test target. It would be absolutely impossible to upgrade this ensemble.
