Description:
S&W model 10-5 Military and Police revolver, SN: C906640, cal. 38 Special, blued with a 4” pinned barrel, serrated ramp front sight and groove rear sight. Color case hardened hammer and trigger. Revolver with usual S&W markings with the added “U.S.” on the backstrap. Matching checkered grips with silvered S&W logos. Part of a U.S. military contract, this gun was retained by the S&W factory and placed in their museum until sold by Butterfield & Butterfield auction. Documentation includes a Butterfield & Butterfield tag advising it was from the S&W Museum Collection. Acquired and later sold as part of the Peter DeRose collection, Mr. DeRose, brother-in-law to S&W historian Roy Jinks, well known to have had one of the best S&W collections extant.
Condition:
As new with original tag from the Butterfield and Butterfield action. An extremely well-documented U.S. military revolver that would be impossible to upgrade!
