Smith and Wesson made very few revolvers for the U.S. Customs Service, this being one of the few examples to reach the commercial market. This stainless steel .357 magnum revolver has blued sights: a serrated ramp front and a S&W fully adjustable rear sight. A heavy 4” barrel with a full lug. Barrel and frame with the usual commercial markings except for the inner frame that is marked “CS-1” over “2M”. Below is “MOD 686”. Checkered semi-target hammer w/ smooth combat trigger, and unrecessed six shot fluted cyl. Fitted with Pachmayr Presentation Compac grips. Complete with original matching-numbered box, literature, and a packet of cleaning accessories including a S&W sight adjustment tool.
