Description:
Large and immediately recognizable Webley Mark VI revolver from WWI, this example manufactured in 1915, later reworked to allow chambering of the .45 ACP cartridge/half moon clips. In the course of reworking, the gun was renumbered now to matched to N3481 that appears on the bottom of the barrel lug, on cylinder (partially shaved off), right side of trigger guard, and bottom of frame. Markings are otherwise standard to include the Mark VI reference on the left side of the top strap and the Webley patent reference on the left side of the frame. Usual scattered British proofs. Fitted with original bakelite grips and rotatable lanyard ring. Complete with original WWII khaki belt holster dated 42 and original British proofed cleaning rod.
Condition:
VG+ as arsenal reworked, now with 90-95% of the reworked finish, minimal sharp edge wear, oxidative etching on bottom of trigger guard as carefully photographed. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. EXC holster and cleaning rod. A very nice ensemble originally made in 1915, then reworked to a more popular caliber, complete with WWII Military holster and accepted cleaning rod.
