The High Standard Model C was one of its more unusual pistols that was numbered in its own serial range, total production fewer than 5000 pistols. This early example has a 6.75in barrel, fixed front sight, a drift adjustable rear sight, and the early type 1-A takedown. The left side of the frame is marked with HS address in New Haven, CN and references the .22 Short, whose caliber that is repeated on the left side of the slide below the “MODEL C”. Full serial number on the front strap. Factory grips finely checkered in the center with prominent borders, no logo. Correct original magazine for the .22 short.
Condition:
Approximately 95-97% bright original blue, most thinning reflected by a cleaned area on the backstrap. Comparable condition grips. VG+ magazine. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. An early and seldom encountered High Standard Model C, well suited for the serious HS collector!
