Excellent Bayard 1908 pocket pistol with original grips and magazine. SN: 124866. Cal: 6.35mm (.25ACP). Standard configuration Bayard 1908, an unusual pistol whose recoil spring is mounted in the slide over the barrel. Fixed front and rear sights. Slide marked on the left side with caliber; patent information on crest. Left side of frame with manufacturer address followed by the mounted knight Bayard logo. Safety detents marked “SUR” (Safe) and “FEU” (Fire). Matching serial numbers and usual German Imperial proofs on right side of slide and frame. Hard rubber grips, molded with the word ”Bayard” in checkered field, each secured with two screws. Bottom magazine release. Left side of magazine marked for caliber.
Condition:
Approximately 95+% original rust blue with comparable condition grips and magazine. Bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. One of the more unusual Belgium made pocket pistols, this example especially desirable in having been issued to the WWI German military.
