Description:

Standard configuration SIG P49, single action pistol in 9mmP, with 4.75” barrel, drift adjustable front and rear sight. This is a transitional pistol in the narrow serial range from A109711-A120500 upgraded with the later serrated slide release. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detentes are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release marked on the left side of the trigger guard web and discretely applied import marking on base of frame. Disassembly shows a matching hammer assembly with the usual half cock. Fitted with checkered black plastic grips, the right panel having a separate escutcheon, the left panel with and integral escutcheon. Fixed lanyard ring.

Condition:

EXC original condition with minimal sharp edge wear as befitting a service pistol that has seen negligible use. Crisp grips. Bright bore and perfect manual mechanics. A scarce and all matching military P49, in the desirable transitional serial range, this example with and upgraded slide release and later left grip panel with the sturdier integral escutcheon.
