Description:

Extraordinary Colt Official Police, caliber .38, blued with wood checkered grips, shipped in Feb 1943 per factory letter to Raritan Arsenal in Nixon, NJ. Standard configuration Colt Official Police with 4” barrel having fixed sights. Colt patent marking on top of the barrel with model/caliber on left side. Left upper rear of frame marked with ordnance bomb. Rampant Colt on sideplate. Full serial number on left side of frame and crane. Fitted with wood checkered grips having silvered Colt medallions. Accompanied by crisp factory letter dated Oct 2014 and signed by Colt Historian Beverly Haynes.

Condition:

Near mint with negligible sharp edge wear and the finest freckling on careful inspection, most noticeable on backstrap. Sharply checkered grips with a few handling impressions as carefully photographed. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. It would be very very very difficult to upgrade this Martial marked Colt Official Revolver with corroborating factory letter.
