High original condition Colt US Army Model 1901, 1st Year Production, all matching with brilliant fire blued parts. Standard configuration revolver with a 6” barrel having fixed sights. Colt address and Patent information in a 2 line address on top of barrel. Colt D.A. .38 on left side of barrel. Bottom of frame marked U.S. ARMY MODEL 1901/No 152926. Last four digits inside frame, crane, on cylinder release, and penciled on back of grip panels. Usual scattering of R. A. C. (Rinaldo A. Carr) Military inspector markings. Fitted with smooth walnut grips that are also R.A.C. stamped on their bases.
Condition:
VG+ bright original finish with holster/handling wear in expected places to include thinning of back strap. Most of the original fire blue still on trigger, screws, and upper/rear surface of hammer. VG/EXC color case hardening on lanyard ring. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. An usually high original condition Model 1901 Military Revolver, especially nice in being a 1st year production firearm!
