Description:
Beautiful example of an early/transitional M1930 Commercial with 5.25” barrel, and an attractive mixture of salt blued and fire blued parts, barrel extension with grooves, and slip in 50-1000 rear sight. Short extractor and universal safety. Top of chamber marked with three line Mauser address. Lightly haloed Crown C/C/U proof on left chamber flat. Full serial number on left side of barrel extension that has the usual color temper line. Left side of frame with the large Mauser banner. Three line Mauser address on right frame that includes “D.R.P.u.A.P. Broadly serrated grips. Original lanyard ring. Correct Mauser banner shoulder stock with unnumbered lug.
Condition:
Excellent, 99+% bright original salt blue with minor wear on front of magazine housing, lower edge, as typical for pistols stored in shoulder stock. Fading of extractor, crest of bolt stop, and forward face of trigger. Back of bolt with shallow oxidative flecking. Minimal handling marks on grips that retain virtually all of their original finish. Lanyard ring, with corrosion, likely replacement. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. VG stock with tiny crack to the left of release button, scattered handling marks and bruises. Lug and hinge faded with oxidative flecking. A beautiful early 1930 Commercial, with bright original finish, an outstanding bore, and a correct stock. A perfect addition to any C96 Broomhandle collection!
