Description:
Original condition Japanese Type 26 revolver, DAO, mid-production, caliber 9x22mmR. SN: 31436. Standard configuration Type 26 revolver with markings limited to the right side of the frame, consisting Tokyo Arsenal logo over 5 Kanji that in turn overlay the full serial number. Fixed front and rear sight, top break double action. Major parts with high polish midnight blue as used in the early Webleys and turn of the century Colts. Screws, hammer and trigger heat treated to a fire blue. Coarsely checkered wood panels with borders. Lanyard ring present. Limited disassembly shows a matching barrel and assembly number-matched cylinder.
Condition:
VG bright original finish with holster wear and toning as one might expect from a moderately carried and used service pistol that was made over 100 years ago. No suggestion that the fire blue on any of the small parts has been touched up. Comparable condition grips with the right panel having a noticeable bruise. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics with each cylinder locking snugly in place before hammer release.
