Standard configuration Smith & Wesson 5-Shot Top Break 38 Hammerless (cal: 38 S&W), 4th Variation, nickel finish, made 1898-1907, with grip safety, with 3.25″ barrel having half-moon front sight and fixed rear sight. The top of the barrel with the two line Smith & Wesson address. Left side of the barrel marked “38 S. & W. CTG”. Right side of the frame with the usual S&W Logo. Color case hardened trigger. Full serial number on butt, cylinder, and rear sight/release latch. Fitted with black hard rubber grips with the Smith & Wesson logo and diamond around the screw.
Condition:
G/VG with patchy areas of flaking nickle finish as pictured. Most blue remaining on the trigger guard and rear sight/disassembly latch. Comparable condition grips with blunted checkering but no splits or losses. Correct manual mechanics with cylinder locking properly before firing pin is released. Negligible case imprints on recoil shield suggesting this revolver was shot very little. A classic S&W Lemon Squeezer from over 100 years ago!
