Description:
Standard configuration mid-war Mauser K98k, with all visible serial numbers matching, chamber marked byf/43, SN: 15094e, cal. 8mm, with correct laminated military stock, hooded serrated ramp drift adjustable front sight and a tangent rear sight graded 1-20. Left side of the receiver marked with the full serial number and Mod. 98. A scattering of acceptance markings along sides of receiver, barrel, floorplate, and stock. All parts matched to last four digits of serial number, including both barrel bands, tangent sight, all components of the bolt, and trigger guard assembly/floorplate. Safety lever with acceptance but no number. Laminated wooden stock and forend. Correct cleaning rod.
Condition:
VG+ original blue with carry wear mixed with fine oxidative speckling. Stock has been carefully refinished with attention to preserve the Waffenamt acceptance on the right side of the buttstock. Bright, near mirror, bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics, the accepted but likely replaced safety lever a bit stiff when rotating through the detents. A very attractive Mauser K98k combat rifle with the byf chamber code!
