Description:
Scarce brush blued Colt M1911A1 U.S. ARMY pistol, SN: 715924 as issued to US Navy with matching slide, made 1939, cal. .45ACP, with 5″ barrel, fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of matching slide marked “PATENTED APR.20.1897. SEPT.9.1902. / DEC.19.1905. FEB.14.1911. AUG.19.1913” with “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. / HARTFORD.CT.U.S.A.” bracketing rampant colt logo. Right side of frame marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and “M1911A1 U.S. ARMY” over SN: “715924”. Barrel marked “COLT 45 AUTO” on left side of chamber with “P” on left side of lug, the “P” repeated on the top of the slide and left side of frame, in all instances having cut through the blued finish. Nicely haloed “H” on frame near mag release button. Uniformly checkered walnut grips. Seven-round dual tone magazine with “B” on inner toe. Complete with “US” brown leather holster marked “SEARS / 1942”, and canvas web belt with metal grommets marked “R.M. CO.”/”1942”.
Condition:
VG-EXC brushed blued finish with sharp edge wear and thinning/toning on front strap and over arched magazine housing. Crisply marked with all “P” and “H” acceptance markings having broken through the original finish. Comparable condition walnut grips with oil staining, minimally blunted diamonds. VG-EXC dual-tone magazine with expected insertional wear. Near mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG holster with near EXC web belt.
