An exceptional example of Japanese military Type 26 Revolver that would be difficult to upgrade.
Description:
The Type 26 revolver, introduced in 1893, was Japan’s first indigenous double-action revolver, designed for military officers. This is a gorgeous original condition Japanese Type 26 revolver, DAO, late-production, caliber 9x22mmR. SN: 47260. Standard configuration Type 26 revolver with markings limited to the right side of the frame, consisting Tokyo Arsenal logo over 5 Kanji that in turn overlay the full serial number. Fixed front and rear sight, top break double action. Major parts with high polish midnight blue as used in the early Webleys and turn of the century Colts. Screws, hammer and trigger heat treated to a fire blue. Coarsely checkered wood panels with borders. Lanyard ring present.
Condition:
Excellent with remarkable little sharp edge wear as you’d expect from a lightly carried service revolver. Most of the fire blue on the small parts remain with no suggestion of touch up. A beautiful, no excuse example that would be difficult to upgrade.
