Very attractive and original Mauser K98k, chamber marked byf/42, visible numbers all matching, with walnut stock and correct sling!

Description:

Standard configuration mid-war Mauser K98k, with all visible serial numbers matching, chamber marked byf/42, SN: 471gg, cal. 8mm, hooded serrated ramp drift adjustable front sight and a tangent rear sight graded 1-20. Left side of the receiver marked with the full serial number and Mod. 98. A scattering of acceptance markings along sides of receiver, barrel, and stock. All parts matched to the serial number, including forward barrel band, tangent sight, all components of the bolt, and trigger guard assembly/floorplate. Complete with correct walnut military stock that was Waffenamt marked behind the trigger guard and right side of buttstock with cupped buttplate marked “brg”, cleaning rod, and sling.

Condition:

VG original blue with sharp edge and carry wear as one might expect from a combat rifle that may have been used for up to three years. Walnut stock with oil staining, numerous scuffs, and dents in expected locations as carefully imaged. Comparable condition sling. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. A very nice, matching K98k battle rifle made by the Mauser co. as reflected by the byf chamber code in 1942!
