Large and immediately recognizable Enfield Mark VI Military Revolver from 1923, this interwar example was later reworked, the rear of the cylinder shaved, to allow chambering of the .45 ACP cartridge/half moon clips. Markings are otherwise standard to include the Mark VI reference on the right side of the frame. Matchings serial numbers on barrel, cylinder (partially shaved off), and frame. Usual scattered British proofs. Fitted with original bakelite grips and rotatable lanyard ring.
Condition:
EXC as arsenal reworked, in effort largely confined to shaving the cylinder, the balance of the revolver with 98-99%% of the original finish.Near EXC grips with the left panel have a few impressions as carefully photographed. No splits. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A great looking Enfield revolver from 1923 that would be tough to upgrade short of having an example with an uncut cylinder.
