Classic early design Spanish military pistol, Campo-Giro M1913-16, late production with checkered wooden grips, complete with original holster and cleaning rod. Standard configuration blowback pistol with 6 5/8th barrel, fixed sights, top ejection, hammer blocking thumb safety, and bottom lever magazine release. Designer, patent reference, manufacturer and location, marked on top of slide. Left side of frame marked to reference model “1913-16” and serial number. Left side of tang marked with Spanish military acceptance. When later rendered as surplus and exported, “SPAIN” was added to the left frame. Correct magazine numbered 09031 on follower. Major components rust blued. Hammer, safety, trigger, and barrel in the white. Crossbolt, grip screws, magazine release and magazine are salt blued, reflecting later refurbishment. Crisply checkered walnut grips. Fixed lanyard loop at bottom of backstrap. Original brown holster, with irregular dark patchy discoloration, brass fittings, original steel cleaning rod.
Excellent, with small part refurbishment as noted. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. (Note: Safety is engaged by rotating to the rear when the hammer is down or in the half-cock position to prevent inadvertent contact with the positive firing pin. It will NOT securely engage with the hammer cocked.) VG+ holster. Leather shrinkage around the head of the cleaning rod prevents its being fully inserted into the pouch.
