Standard configuration 1911 with almost all the earliest features except the peacock blue small parts. Thin front sight, rounded rear sight, short checkered stub hammer. Later slide (no circle around rampant colt) with usual address and barrel with original rough finish, blued chamber. Left side of frame marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” with encircled inspector marking, behind trigger guard cutout, having cut through the blued finish. Right side of frame with small digit serial numbers that were also applied after the pistol was finished. Original diamond grips and screws. Later, two tone unmarked magazine with lanyard loop.
Very attractive Colt 1911 made in 1912.
At least 90% original blue patches of discolored areas on left side of slide near muzzle. Sharp edge wear in expected places as might be expected from careful service use. No suggestion of touchup or any other enhancement. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. This is a very attractive and early Colt Military 1911, with slightly later slide, having most of the key features desired by collectors. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
