Scarce late World War I Colt 1911 military pistol made 1918, SN: 233,011, in the serial range 232,001-233,600 shown delivered to the U.S. Navy even though the slide bears the customary “Model of 1911 U.S. ARMY” legend. Coupled with 1918-dated holster and web belt with 1918-dated spare mag pouch and a WWII medical kit.

Description:
Standard configuration Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army pistol with brushed blue finish manufactured 1918, SN: 233,011, cal. .45 ACP, with 5-inch barrel and standard fixed sights. Left side of slide marked “PATENTED APR.20.1897 SEPT.9.1902 / DEC.19.1905 FEB.14.1911 AUG.19.1913” followed by “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” with right side of slide marked “MODEL OF 1911 U.S.ARMY”. Correct barrel with small “H” and “P” on top of chamber, the “H” repeated at rear of slide and inside frame that is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” on left side; “No 233011” on right side. Circular JMG inspection cutting through original finish. Checkered walnut diamond grips secured with standard screws. Unmarked dual tone magazine. Complete with brown leather US holster stamped “WARREN LEATHER GOODS CO. 1918 J.A.O.”, and military field gear including canvas web belt with spare double mag pouch dated 1918 and a medical supplies pouch marked “U.S.” containing first aid packet marked “FIRST AID PACKET U.S. – W.P.A.” with various supplies, TP, and a separate cardboard box “SMALL BATTLE DRESSING” dated 1943.
Condition:
VG+ original Colt brushed blue finish with handling, light freckling, and holster related wear, spotting on left side of slide with cold blue touch-up, front and back straps retaining the vast majority of their original finish. Oil darkened grips with sharp diamonds, minimal blunting, no splits. Comparable condition magazine. Bright, near mirror bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. VG+ holster and near excellent web belt with pouches, contents as photographed. A wonderful ensemble from 1918 with some medical supplies from a later date.
