Standard configuration Colt 1889 U.S. Navy DA .38 revolver, made 1892, SN: 3004, Cal: .38, with 6” barrel having fixed front and grooved rear sight. Top of barrel with two line address reflecting location and patent dates. “COLT D. A. 38” on left side of barrel. . Frame, crane, and barrel with matching 3089; cylinder release marked “737”. Butt faintly marked “USN/anchor/38DA/ No.3004/P/WWK/1889″. Smooth walnut panels, each grip pencil numbered 3087.
Condition:
Beautiful restoration, arguably factory, now in near excellent condition with period correct blue and fire blue, flat planes, with comparable condition grips. Sharp and easily legible markings except on butt where some of the writing is no longer discernible. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A U.S. Colt Model 1889 Navy Double Action revolver, nicely restored, seldom available in any condition. ANTIQUE!
