Description:

Early, first variation Marlin 39A takedown tube fed carbine with a 20.45 in. barrel having a ramped bead front sight with hood and buckhorn rear sight. Marlin address and caliber reference on top of barrel. Proofing on right side at rear. SN under lever. Fitted with a smooth forend and butt stock with a “Marlin” marked butt plate.

Condition:

Near Exc with rifle retaining 97% bright original blue most of the wear reflecting handling inside the lever, mating surface of tang, and a burred tang screw. Butt stock with oil soaked discoloration where it meets the receiver. EXC butt plate. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A tough to find early Marlin 39A!
