Description:

The Adler Pistol was an early SA-only blowback design, chambered for a proprietary 7.25mm cartridge, that was developed in Germany around 1915. One of its unique features includes a hinged dust cover disassembly for field stripping and/or cleaning. Although known examples have serial numbers over 1000, it is estimated that only about 100 of these pistols were completed. The pistol has a 3.5-inch barrel with a fixed front sight and fixed notch rear sight. The right side of the frame is marked with a 3-line address that references the patent and manufacturer. Crown/CU markings on the right side of the barrel, frame, and cocking knob. Matching serial numbers on the back strap, under the barrel, top cover, and bolt. Fitted with HR grips molded with an Eagle logo surrounded by a checkered-bordered field. Unmarked magazine, right side slotted for cartridge visualization, with a pinned floorplate.

Condition:

97% bright blue, professional restoration, with flat planes, sharp lettering, and enough thinning and sharp edge wear so as to make originality discernment very difficult for those not familiar with this type of pistol. Mirror bore. Although the safety correctly detents, it will not block the sear as the firing pin will release regardless of position. An exceptionally attractive Adler that is extraordinarily difficult to find under any circumstance!
