Description:
One of very few standard configuration FN 1903 pistols factory slotted at the base to accept uniquely designed hollowed shoulder stock recessed for pistol, extended magazine and no cleaning rod. The stock slides unto the bottom of the pistol, effectively acting as an extension of the frame, the lug providing a fixture through which fits the extended magazine. Pistol has the usual fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide with two line address, large lettering referencing manufacturer in Belgium and Browning’s patent. Belgium proof marks on adjacent slide, repeated on frame and exposed barrel hood. Full serial number on right sight of frame. Fitted with checkered grips, each panel molded with the intertwined FN logo over a finely checkered field. Hollowed shoulder stock has lug #40468. Standard and extended magazines each cut with a single viewing slot on the right side and no markings.
Synopsis:
Very scarce FN 1903 “War Model” pistol with original shoulder stock and extended magazine.
Condition:
Very good original rust blue with scattered speckling and wear particularly on the left side of the slide as photographed. Comparable condition grip straps. Original grips with slightly blunted checkering but no discernible cracks. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Although the stock is mismatched it is in the same general condition as the pistol, making for a very attractive and rarely encountered ensemble. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
