Full size copy of the Colt 1911A1 made by Gabilondo y Cia in Vitoria Spain in 1968 whose design included a grip safety, palm swell and trigger cutout. This example with a fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight mounted on a shallow ventilated rib. Left side of the slide marked with the manufacturer and location in Spain, caliber noted as 9mm(38). The right side of the slide is marked Cal 38 Super Automatic, likely a remarking/clarification for the US market, in addition to the customary “LLAMA” ESPECIAL. The triad of Eibar proofs including N1, reflecting proofing in 1968, is on the left side of the frame with the automatic pistol proof repeated on the left side of the slide and exposed barrel hood. Full serial number on the right side of the frame. Fitted with checkered grips each panel with a “LLAMA” escutcheon. Lanyard ring present. Correct button released magazine whose right side has eight indicator holes and a detachable floorplate with serrations at the toe.
