Description:
Standard configuration WWII K98k rifle manufactured by the Berlin Mauser factory in 1939 with drift adjustable ramped front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. The chamber is factory coded “243” and dated “1939”. The left side of the barrel has a single “Eagle 26” acceptance proof with left side of both the barrel and receiver having a large “Eagle” acceptance. The left side of receiver marked with the block style “Mod. 98” markings. The handguard and stock are laminated. The rifle has ALL MATCHING components to include both barrel bands, trigger guard, floorplate, bolt assembly, stock and buttplate.
Condition:
VG+ original blue with handling marks, thinning, and spotty oxidation as one would expect from a military rifle that may have seen nearly six years of military service. Bright bore, sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. Comparable condition stock with handling dings and areas of discoloration, though acceptances and numeration very crisp.
