Russian Izhevsk Arsenal Makarov pistol manufactured in 1983, cal. 9mmMak, SN: CT4405, with fixed front and drift adjustable rear sight, the rear sight marked “2” on back. Left side of slide marked “CT 4405” with matching “CT 4405” on the frame followed by Izhevsk Arsenal logo and “1983” date. Right side of frame with import markings. Fitted with reddish checkered grip with the traditional 5-pointed star and lanyard loop. Eight-round early style magazine with indicator window on each side; “4905” on left side seemingly scrubbed, “-68” on right side. The Makarov was formally adopted by the Soviet Armed Forces in December 1951 as the standard service pistol, replacing the TT-33 and remaining in service until the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Condition:
Approximately 99% bright original blue with a few faint handling marks. Comparable condition grip with scuffing on back spine as imaged. Re-dipped magazine. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics. An extremely nice Russian military Makarov made in 1983, fitted with an earlier configuration but mechanically functional magazine.
