Mauser C96 10-shot Conehammer, 7.63mm, with matching stock. Standard 5.5’ barrel with fixed front sight and pinned rear sight graduated 1-10. Usual chamber address with Crown/Crown/U on left side of barrel extension; antler proof on right side. Full serial number on back of frame and repeated on all the usual parts including each of the grips. Serrated walnut grips. Original lanyard ring. Detailed disassembly shows all usually numbered components matched to the serial number including the firing pin, trigger and each of the grips. Major parts are rust blued; the smaller parts are either heat treated to a fire blue, grey case hardened, or polished in- the-white. Complete with original matching stock.
Condition:
VG+ with sharp edge wear and light scattered freckling as one would expect from a pistol that is over 100 years old and seen light/moderate use. The extractor has greyed and the cursor noticeably speckled. Grips, oil darked with scattered handling marks, retaining most of their original varnish. Slightly dull bore with easily discernable rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Wood and hardware have been refinished with the hardware polished and eheat treated. No discernable cracks. A very nice and relatively early production Mauser C96 Conehammer Rig, especially nice that it is an ANTIQUE!
