Seldom encountered Mauser G.41 (M), German WWII Military Rifle with unique bolt action offering initial feed followed by semi-automatic function, this being an all matching late production example with the sheet metal trigger guard. Approximately 7000 rifles manufactured between 1941 and 1943. This standard configuration G. 41(M), chamber dated 42 has the usual gas regulator at front, hooded post front sight and tangent rear sight graduated 1-12. Rotatable safety marked “S” and “F”. Virtually all parts matched to the full serial number 12238 including receiver and cover, bolt, barrel, both barrel bands, gas mechanism, magazine housing, trigger guard, and stock. Scattered Waffenamts in usual locations. Stock has been individualized with “M.” in two locations on the right side of the buttstock as photographed. Cupped buttplate marked “bpr”.
Condition:
G/VG with worn original finish and stock darkening with scattered handling marks as one might expect from a service rifle that has seen moderate use. Dull bore with easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. One of the most desirable semi-automatic rifles used by the Germans in WWII, this all matching example with late war features and correct manual mechanics.
