Relatively few Makarovs were completed with lettered dating, this example with a “K” reflecting manufacture in 1957. Standard configuration Makarov with fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Izhevsk Arsenal marking on left side of frame. Import marked on right side of frame. Later configuration safety and two early Russian magazines, both reworked, now scribed “490-1” and “490-2” on their left side. Single piece reddish maroon plastic grip with two checkered panels impressed with encircled 5 pointed star.
Condition:
99% blue as arsenal reworked and later style safety and renumbered Russian magazines, the original numeration on spine having been crossed out. With handling marks as imaged. Near Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics with both magazines. An extremely unusual dated Makarov with factory reworking as carefully described and imaged.
