Description:
Scarce Swiss Military P49 Transitional Pistol, 9mmP, found in a narrow serial range from A109711-A120500. This single action pistol has a 4.75” barrel, drift adjustable front and rear sight, and flat, checkered slide release. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detentes are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release marked on left side of the trigger guard. Disassembly shows a matching hammer assembly with the usual half cock. Fitted with checkered black plastic grips, separate escutcheons, secured with a single transfer screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with matte finish magazine.
Condition:
VG/EXC original condition with sharp edge wear and thinning of front strap befitting a service pistol that has seen light/moderate use. Crisp grips. Bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A scarce and all matching military P49, with the desirable transitional features that only appeared in a narrow serial range. A nice find for the serious Swiss Military pistol collector!
