Description:
Standard configuration SIG SAUER P226 stainless steel, factory engraved pistol, cal. 9mmP, serial number 47A216427, with extensive factory scroll engraving throughout the slide surfaces. Three dot drift adjustable night sights. Right side of frame marked “SIG SAUER INC.” and “EXETER-NH-USA” with serial number “47A216427” on the frame. Fitted with smooth walnut grips with the SIG logo medallion on each panel. Includes two 15 round magazines with left side bearing “SIG SAUER”, “P226”, and “9MM”, while right side bears 3 indicator holes marked 5,10,15 on the body and base plate marked with “U.S PATENT” reference. Complete with tactical Crimson Trace laser light with ambidextrous switch mounted to the accessory rail, black polymer carrying case with matching numbered end label citing stainless steel construction and factory engraving, with spare magazine, gun oil and safe lock. The P226 was developed in 1984 for the XM9 Service Pistol Trials to replace the 1911 in U.S. military service, and though it lost to the Beretta M92F on cost considerations, it was subsequently adopted by the U.S. Navy SEALs after they experienced failures with the Beretta system, a myriad of variations having been introduced into commercial channels.
Condition:
Virtually NIB. The pistol presents as new, not even the smallest rub mark on the barrel hood from manipulating the action. Primary mag with a few tiny scuffs on the floorplate. The spare mag, other accessories and case are as new. Mirror bore. Crimson Trace light with correct ambidextrous function. An absolutely wonderful ensemble, sure to please any SIG Sauer collector!
