Late production Star 1922 with 5 inch barrel, fixed front sight, and screw adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked the Guardia Civil royal crown followed by the usual Star legend that denotes the 9mm caliber, later modified for .38 as reflected by the surcharged stamping. Exposed barrel hood marked with automatic pistol proof, left side of frame marked ‘Made in Spain’ at time of export. Full serial number on base of frame. Major components rust-blued. Barrel hood, hammer, and sides of trigger polished and in the white. Strawed extractor. Horn grips impressed with circular Star logo surrounded by a field of checkering with border. Lanyard ring present. Nickled 8-shot magazine, base marked with Guardia Civil logo and matching serial number. This is one of 15,000 M1922 pistols made between 1922 and 1931, this example having the later production extractor and magazine button/retainer as carried forward to the M1931.
Synopsis:
Unusual Star 1922, issued to Guardia Civil, late features, with matching magazine.
