Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 1913, S&W’s first semiautomatic pistol, .35 caliber, SN: 6398, produced between 1913 and 1921, with approximately 8,350 manufactured. Top of barrel extension marked with manufacturer address and two lines of patents. Left side of 3.5″ barrel marked “35 S&W AUTO. CTG.” Sights consist of a fixed front blade and integral rear sight groove. Serial number 6398 stamped on frontstrap. Fitted with smooth dark wooden grip panels with gold Smith & Wesson medallions. Blued magazine with six cartridge indicator holes, released by pulling retainer to the rear. Complete with an original factory cardboard box with bristle brush, end label marked “SMITH & WESSON 35 AUTOMATIC 3 1/2 INCH BLUE,” the interior caution label, and the bottom of the box pencil numbered “”6652”.
Condition:
High original condition pistol retaining about 98% of its bright factory blue with slight muzzle wear and fine freckling on front and back straps. Oil darkened grips with a few scattered superficial handling marks, particularly on the right panel. Comparable condition magazine with insertional wear. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG+ box with shelf wear most pronounced at corners. No repairs at hinge or end label that has only minimal edge losses.
