Beautiful, All Matching, Original Finish Bern 1882 Swiss military Revolver with “17” dated holster and shoulder strap.

Description:

Standard mid-production Waffenfabrik Bern Model 1882 Swiss military Revolver, chambered in 7.5mm, with 4.5″ octagonal barrel with fixed front and notched rear sight. Waffenfabrik Bern logo on left side of frame under the full serial number 18848, the serial number repeated on left side of barrel, cylinder, cylinder axle, ejector rod, hammer, and trigger. Separate assembly numbers on various parts most notably ‘178’. Original hard rubber grips, left panel molded with Swiss Cross enclosed by checkered field. Single transverse screw. Lanyard ring present. Complete with correct leather holster dated “17” with shoulder strap.

Condition:

Crisp 97% bright original rust blue finish with muzzle wear, rub mark behind loading gate, and thinning around lanyard ring as commonly seen in even the best condition Swiss service revolvers. Strawed parts in similar condition, though most of the straw has faded from the outer surface of the loading gate and along much of the cylinder axle pin. No suggestion of enhancement. Congealed grease in protected areas. Comparable condition grips, near mirror bore, correct manual mechanics with each cylinder indexing properly to a tight lockup. VG-EXC holster, nicely marked on obverse surface, with intact stitching and supple shoulder strap. A very nice, no-excuse, Swiss Military 1882 Bern revolver with correct holster, well suited to the serious collector!
