U.S. Fire Arms Manufacturing Company Bisley single-action revolver in .45 Colt, SN: 26283, with 5.5″ barrel, color case-hardened frame and blued barrel/grip with standard black checkered panels. Fixed front sight and standard rear sight notch, the barrel marked “U.S.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” along with the caliber “45 Colt”. The frame marked “PAT SEPT 19 1871” patent date with serial number “26283” appearing on the bottom of the frame and adjacent grip frame. Fitted with black checkered grips featuring circular “US” medallions. Complete in original factory box with green interior, grey foam, and factory end label showing model specifications including “Bisley”, “Barrel: 5-1/2, Ejector”, “Caliber: .45LC”, “Weight: CC/DB”, “Finish: 2pc-HRD(Black)”, “Grips: Checker, Reg Size”, and matching serial number, accompanied by warranty and ad media with cloth storage bag marked “U.S.F.A. MFG. CO.” and “HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” U.S. Fire Arms Manufacturing Company operated “Under the Blue Dome” in the East Armory building of the former Colt Armory complex in Hartford, Connecticut, where Colt’s Manufacturing Company produced many of their classic firearms in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company dissolved in January 2017, making USFA revolvers increasingly collectible as products of the last firearms manufacturer in the historic Colt’s Armory Complex.
