Description:
This incredibly rare Japanese WWII Military pistol, Cal. 7.65mm, was made by the Sugiura Company near the end of WWII and serial ed from 1000-6000 with the first 2300 earmarked for the Japanese Military, the balance directed to the invading Chinese. Never exported, the few pistols in the United States were all GI bring backs. The total number in private hands estimated to be fewer than 30. This standard production Sugiura has a fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. The full serial number is marked in large characters on the right side of the slide, frame, internally under the barrel and on the inner surface of the barrel bushing. Fitted with unnumbered wood grips, coarsely checkered with a generous border. Bottom release magazine with 7 indicator holes, the magazine number “593”.
Condition:
VG original finish pistol with scattered patches of discoloration on right side, likely from prolonged contact with a moist surface. The balance of pistol in near excellent with oil darkened grips and screws with irregular slots. Roughly machined magazine in good condition. Near Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. An extraordinarily rare Japanese Military pistol that is virtually never offered for sale.
